Multiple Year Returns and Non-Filed Returns for Individuals
It happens all the time. You don’t file a return and then the next year comes and goes and you have not filed for a second time, then you get scared, and the third year comes goes. Then the IRS letters start coming in… once they start they don’t stop because they are coming from a computer program, every 28 days. At first they are fairly straight forward, and then they get progressively “un-nicer” (not a real word) until they tell you that you owe them $44,925.67 and you only made $50,000 that year and had taxes withheld! How is that even possible! They are just trying to get your attention but, if you keep ignoring them, that could be the final result.
